Leverage in Death is the 47th full novel in the in Death series written by J.D. Robb which is the pen name for Nora Roberts. The stories are mystery with a romance twist.

In this story, the mystery is around family men who become suicide bombers. The first one walks in to work on Monday, and blows up the merger meeting he was scheduled to be at. His family is found as prisoners in their own home.

Dallas investigates the explosion at the office. Of course, no investigation with Dallas is complete without a little help from her partner Peabody, and her husband Roarke.

To complicate matters, it’s time for the Oscars, and Nadine’s book turned into a movie is up for an Oscar. Of course Dallas doesn’t want to go, but she can send her partner. Dallas arranges to send her partner with her main squeeze to the Oscars with Nadine. The case is complicated though, and just when things are coming together, Nadine must move up her travel plans. Dallas shows her ability to think on her feet as she quickly sends Peabody off and still moves on one of her suspects.

Just like all the other books of the series, I very much enjoyed the wit of Dallas, and sometimes childish but funny way of looking at things. I enjoy the high octane take down, and how everything moves so fast.
