Book Tag

End of Year Tag

This tag was created by the fabulous Ariel Bissett. Since we have now entered December, I figure it is a good time to do this tag.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Many. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein, The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter, and The Lost Chalice by Anita Clenney, just to name a few.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Best guess would be Fate of the Fallen by Kel Kade. I’m not really sure if this is very autumnal as far as story, but the cover makes me think of autumn with the colors used.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

No. Fate of the Fallen was the last book I was looking forward to being released in 2019. It came out early November, so I’m all set.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Hmmm, just 3? Obviously Fate of the Fallen by Kel Kade. As for the other 2? I guess I’ll go with Heart of a Huntsman by Liam Reese, and Hour of Mischief by Aimee Hyndman. These are both on previous TBRs but I didn’t get to them in those months, and are also high on my list of books I want to get to. There are others though. I’ve been having the issue of wanting to read all the books at once, but obviously I can’t.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

Possibly Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson. I’m not sure on this one though because I felt the Mistborn books were a bit slow for my liking. With all the new information, I didn’t feel it as much with Mistborn as I did with The Well of Ascension. I haven’t read the third book yet, and am currently in no hurry to get to it either.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?

Yes. I’ve been debating how many books I think I can handle each month, and also wanting to read more. I’m also contemplating a new way of tracking my books other than Goodreads. There are things about Goodreads I like, but also I hate. More things I hate. The only plus right now with Goodreads, is all the information is already entered for me when I add the book to my reading list – pages, title, author, publisher – but also, this information is sometimes wrong, or not how I would like it tracked. Such as with the audiobook format. The pages on Goodreads tend to be the number of hours. So a book which is 2 hours, is 2 pages. Not a very accurate representation of the length of books we’ve read.
