TBR, Wrap Up

March TBR

I won’t be playing the game this month. When you are coming out of a slump, sometimes you really want to read the books you couldn’t get on your TBR set by prompts. Having said that, I did awesome for February’s TBR.

I finished 5 books in February! One being Bone Season by Samanth Shannon, which was a book I checked out of my local library for January’s TBR so I wanted to finish. Then we jump to a book I didn’t get on my February TBR, but since I always go with the audiobook, and they are never long, I knew it would only take me literally a day to listen to; which was Abandoned in Death by J.D. Robb better known as Nora Roberts. If you don’t know me, you may not know, this series is an auto-buy for me. In fact I usually pre-order the next book of the series so I can have it the day it is released. Then I finished three of the four books on my February TBR; Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames, A Blade so Black by L.L. McKinney, and Fruits Basket collectors edition Volume 4. I also managed a few chapters of The Queen of Blood by Sarah Beth Durst, and would have finished if I hadn’t spent all the time watching pointless videos and hadn’t still been trying to finish Bone Season at the start of the month.

For March, I did actually roll the dice and got the prompts, and found myself getting depressed at the books I was picking. Not that I didn’t want to read them, but I was fighting the prompts and stretching one or two so I could get books I wanted to read next on my TBR. In the end, I decided to try just a straight, here are the books I would like to try to read.

First up, I went way too long before continuing with the fourth book, so I want to keep this going and will be reading the fifth volume of Fruits Basket, the collectors edition. There were some pieces I don’t recall being in the anime in the fourth volume, so I have no idea where I am in relation to the anime series anymore, perhaps I’ll figure it out better with the fifth volume.

Probably really should have put this one first, but I will be continuing The Queen of Blood by Sara Beth Durst. I have read a few chapters and am really curious to see how this continues.

In the theme of continuing, I’d like to go back to The Burning Sea by A.E. Rayne which I managed to get on my January TBR and started, but I couldn’t finish before the end of the month. I really enjoyed the first book of the series and would like to continue this series. It’s also independently published.

I’d like to also get back to The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson. This is another book I started in January but didn’t finish, and will complete the first trilogy of the Mistborn saga which will be my first series completed for the Finishing the Series reading challenge.

If I am able, before too much more time passes since I finished the first book, I would like to get to Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb. This is the second book in the Farseer Trilogy which is part of the Realm of the Elderlings. I remember there was some political stuff happening towards the end of the first book, Assassin’s Apprentice, but I’m starting to forget the intricacies of what was happening so should get back to this sooner rather than later.

These are the books I’m hoping to read in March. If you’ve read any of these, please let me know what you thought of them; just please try to avoid spoilers.
