Sunday Post #89: Back to Exercising

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly over on the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news of what happened in your life, what’s coming up on your blog, or recap posts shared.

I’ve caught myself now several times recently, falling for stress foods. The Starburst candies, the Pop-Tarts – Brown Sugar Cinnamon in particular is a major comfort food for me, and of course the many cans of soda, Dr. Pepper in particular. So I’ve decided I’m going to make a larger effort to get back to exercising in the mornings or evenings, whenever I can sneak some time in. This is difficult, not so much because of the time, but I live in a relatively small house, and due to other life things getting in the way, we are still storing much of our basement on the main floor of the house. We live in a ranch style, so the main floor, is the only floor other than the basement. I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I’ve done a proper work out until I did my first one a couple days ago on Friday. I started one intensity level from what I could do previously, apparently this was not enough. Oh I hurt. Yesterday was really bad, because I was having trouble if I sat for any amount of time, even just a few seconds before a certain puppy dog was then asking for play or to go outside and I was getting up again. It took a tremendous effort to put mind over matter and conquer the pain I was feeling in my thighs specifically and to actually pull myself up. Getting back to exercising will hopefully help me get back in shape, but also release those much needed endorphins to deal with the stress and help me to stop stress eating.

This past week I’ve been listening a little to Hero of Ages when I can, and physically reading The Queen of Blood. I’m starting to get in to the Hero of Ages, finally, after getting a bit over halfway. I have a little over 10 hours left of the audiobook. Things be a happening; and troubles be rising. Queen of Blood I’m still just starting basically. I’m on page 66 of 388, and am quite intrigued of what our protagonist will do in this academy learning how to communicate with the various spirits in this world. She doesn’t show much aptitude, but I think there are some surprises for us because she is good at thinking things through and finding a solution.

I’m not sure what all this new week has in store for me, but I’m looking forward to it. Do you have any exciting plans for this coming week or month?
