Title: A High-End Finish
Author: Kate Carlisle

Narrator: Angela Starling

This is one book, I have to say the movie was better. I picked this up after seeing one of the Framed for Murder movies on the Hallmark channel starring Jewel.

I was intrigued by the story because the main character is in construction and restores old historical homes. I enjoy DIY projects and working on fixing my own home. Plus, the romantic interest is a writer. The book however, has a love triangle with someone who denied wanting a relationship in the first place.

I prefer the movie, probably more because I didn’t really care for the love triangle. I have to say I’m solidly in the famous writer’s corner, over the other guy. As always, both men play some role in solving the murder and in keeping the main character safe.

The main character does get into a bit of trouble, more because of her house guest. She rents out a room to tourists, and the gentleman staying is no gentleman. He causes trouble all over town, and is known to do so as this isn’t his first visit.

She also has some trouble when the brakes on her bike go out, which is how she meets the writer. With all the trouble she gets in, and now the mystery of the seemingly random murders around town that tie nicely to her, gives the writer a good story idea.

I am interested to see how this love triangle progresses, and how the next murder gets tied to this female renovator.
