Shh, I’m Reading

Good morning, afternoon, evening! May you be having a good lead up to this readathon. I love participating in Dewey’s readathon because of the great community feeling around reading. It’s also very chill. There’s no reading goal, unless you give yourself one. I can’t say how many times now I’ve participated, because it’s been a while. Even when I wasn’t necessarily posting here or on YouTube, I was participating in this readathon. I’m very excited to get started.

I’m a little over half-way through The Burning Sea by A. E. Rayne, and this is the last day of April. So my hope will be to finish the book if I can. I’m not sure what I’m going to do for an audiobook yet. I finished Assassin’s Quest by Robin Hobb a couple days ago. I do have a non-fiction book I’m listening to on the side of my monthly TBRs, so I may just work on that one, or start one of the audiobooks I’ve planned for my May TBR. We shall see what happens when I get there.

Hour 5

Pages read: 153

It’s afternoon now for me; and almost 30 minutes in to hour 5. I’ve started an audiobook, Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out by Susan Kuklin, which I’m listening to on Scribd. I am realizing I’m reading The Burning Sea quite slowly, which is probably why it is taking me so long to get through the book. Most of the pages in my page total, are from the audiobook, and my time outside this morning working on the yard.

Hour 16

Pages read: 185

We are just starting hour 16 now, and I am wiped. Not much reading has happened since the last update. Some adulting and shopping with the husband for house stuff happened. We also took what was meant to be a nap, but was really more like a short sleep time. It lasted for close to three hours. ๐Ÿ˜“I think we were really exhausted after the yard work and running around with the dog. Anyways, going to sleep now, but I should be up in time for a few more hours to read before the end of the readathon.

Hour 22

Total pages: 185

Pretty much just woke up. I say pretty much because we had a thunderstorm roll in last night and it woke me up a few times. Letting out the dog was fun since it’s still raining pretty good. I’m not sure yet which book I’m going to go for, but since this is the usual wake up time, I should get some tea and pick up one of the books.

Wrap up

Total pages: 257

I ended up reading some of both books. Unfortunately though, I fell asleep at some point while listening to Beyond Magenta, then happened to wake up again exactly when the readathon was over. I went back and found the place in the book I last remembered and there was 54 minutes left of the book. This plus what I read from The Burning Sea, brings the page count total to 257 for this readathon.

Hope everyone had fun reading. While not my best, I was also quite productive and active throughout the readathon so I’m happy with what I managed to get through. See you all later! ๐Ÿ˜€
