Sunday Post #46: Reviewing books

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly over on the Caffeinated Reviewer.

I am finding it hard to remember the books I’ve finished enough to review them. I’ve actually skipped a few as of late because I couldn’t remember enough details of the books to review them. I’m also not great at taking notes while listening or reading. I usually get taken in by the story and don’t think of anything other than what is happening and wondering how the characters are going to get out of their current predicament, or solve whatever needs solving.

Now, I’m in a race to read 17 books in one month as I try for Quest Champion in the Book Junkie Trials this month. So far I’ve completed 3 books, and have another 3 in progress. But then I also have another 4 previously completed to write up.

I always struggle in writing the review, but I’m making it worse by taking so long to even start writing the thing. Now I’m going to need to find time in the middle of all the reading I’m trying to complete this month as part of the readathon, and to catch up some on my Goodreads reading goal for this year.

Do you take notes while reading or are you also caught up in the story?

  1. I sometimes take notes while reading but not a lot. It depends on the book, and how into it I am or if there’s something I REALLY want to remember when it’s time to write the review. But even if I do I often end up not looking at my notes anyway haha!

  2. I occasionally take notes, it’s much easier with an ebook than a print book.its less of an interruption. I try to read during the day and then write reviews at night a day or two later.

    Have a great reading week
