Sunday Post #5: Easter Fool’s

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kim over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News, books we’ve read, received, and what is coming on our blogs.

Well, Easter falls on April Fool’s. Who’d have thought that was even possible. I don’t know about you, but I shudder at the thought of some of the pranks I may have to put up with later when seeing family.

Just this morning I decided to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo. Apparently I love to torture myself. Along with the torture though, I have been wanting to get back to the story I started last November, but for the most part haven’t touched it other than playing around with scenes and characters in my head. Kind of hard to even possibly publish one day the story in your head, if it stays in your head. So, to go along with the already packed first 2 weeks of April thanks to projects at work, stressing me out to the point of I feel sick, I’ve decided to give myself one more project!

What projects? Well, I can tell you I am revamping our quarterly reports and doing some fun formulas in Excel, and creating some pretty graphs. This is the most stressful of them all. Sounds easy right? Except to enter in everyone’s numbers usually takes me a few days of work, I follow up with them, ask questions when things don’t add up, the usual. This time, because I will be at a conference, and based on when people can get me their numbers to begin with, I get to crunch the few days of work into one. Oh the torture. On top of that, we have a new VP for our department, and my boss is on vacation, so I will be helping explain things to the VP when neither of us have presented or seen these reports presented previously. I can only go off what I’ve been told of these meetings, and it’s not much.

The conference I mentioned is in Austin, Texas. I’m flying there. I’ve never been on a plane before. Thankfully I have friends and coworkers who have put up with my sometimes repetitive questions, because my anxiety is on full alert, and I’m struggling to wrangle it in. I made myself sick on Friday from the fear of the unknown, and worrying about mistakes I could possibly make, or pissing off the other people flying because I won’t know what I’m doing. The flight out is an early morning flight so I’m sure everyone will be understanding…understanding that I am a first time flyer and I’m holding them up and preventing them from making it through the security line with any kind of speed. I know people can be jerks – putting things very mildly – and I never want to be on their bad side.

I just completed the March Duodecathon, and I attempted 2 challenges for this. I only completed 1. You can see my Reading Vlog on my YouTube channel.

This is basically all that has been going on. Just this morning I downloaded Bossy Pants by Tina Fey using Overdrive from my library. So far I’m loving this book, I don’t want to pause it. I imagine this book will be finished long before the week is over.

If anyone has tips for flying, please let me know. I will take anything right now. Even if I’ve heard it before, the more I hear something, just means the better or more important the tip.
