Sunday Post #41: Cleaning Goodreads

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly over on the Caffeinated Reviewer.

Hello again! It’s hard to believe it’s June already. I’m currently 18 books behind in my Goodreads reading challenge. Thank goodness for graphic novels and audiobooks. I’m hoping to make a big dent in my deficit this month.

I’ve been working on cleaning up my Goodreads shelves. It’s hard with most every book being in an electronic format, so it’s hard to see what I have and need to read. I had created a just need the chance shelf on Goodreads, but I’ve been bad about keeping it up to date, and then it’s hard to find books I’m interested in. To solve this, I’m putting the books I’m interested in only on an Amazon wishlist. Then I’ll need to clean my wishlist because I know there are a few books that have been on the list for a few years.

Now I must get back to cleaning the Goodreads shelves, my parents will be over soon. They are bringing plants we weren’t able to plant yesterday due to thunderstorms all afternoon.

    1. It took me roughly two evenings to clean my shelves out. I still think there are a few I missed removing from my want to read shelf and adding to a wishlist.

  1. I’m religious about my Goodreads shelves. I have a whole system and I update my reading daily. So it works for me. I use a system like a Venn diagram (I love math) because you can select multiple shelves and it gives you only items on both shelves. So I have shelves for genre and for first in a series and various other categorizations. Good luck and Happy reading!

    1. Wow! That is really organized! I’ve thought about doing something similar, but don’t know if I could keep it up so I haven’t. I can’t even keep up with the shelves I have.
