The Sunday Post is a meme put on by Kim from Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a place for us to talk about whatever we want.
Lots of stuff going on. Work getting crazy. This past Friday was even crazier than usual. My boss has me put out like a motivational email each morning, usually a funny video or motivational quote. Friday was so bad, my coworkers made a comment about needing one in the afternoon. So I sent out an afternoon motivational message.
Deadlines are fast approaching, and waiting on others to do their part is putting more pressure on me, because they have other higher priorities and what I need them to do so I can finish my stuff keeps getting put off. Which just means I will need to put in extra time as the deadline approaches, which means less reading time.
I also have a bad urge to get back to writing. I’ve had this idea in my head for a while now. In fact it’s been almost a year. Wanting to get it on paper, or rather get it in the computer, I have been watching some writing videos to see how others plan out their stories. I need to work out some stuff before I sit at the keyboard to crank out the story, but have not yet figured out an outline process that works for me. This will also take some time from reading.
Seeing as how I’m already several books behind, I think I just need to lower my goal. So I’ve been taking the day to contemplate what to lower my goal to. I’m currently considering lowering it from 104 to 75. I think 75 is more doable, depending on the length of the books I read, and the format; but mostly the length.
Good luck with the writing! It can be tough sometimes to get in that place where you’re ready to actually start telling the story. Or at least that’s been my experience haha. Anyway best of luck with it!
Lowering your goal sounds sensible if it’s important to you to meet it. Good luck on starting your story.
Have a great reading week
I actually don’t participate in the goodreads challenge like others do. I set my goal to 1 and I just see how many books I read at the end of the year. I was putting way too much pressure on myself to meet goals and I read a lot of books I wouldn’t have enjoyed so I just decided to not do the challenge. It’s been a few years now and I like seeing just how much I read without feeling super guilty.
I have also had several ideas in my head that I’d love to get down on paper but like you I haven’t found a outline format that really works for me. I’m hoping to finally take the plunge and do it soon. I never thought of watching youtube videos on it so I think that’s something I need to look into.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
