Sunday Post #7: Still Need to Cut

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kim over on Caffeinated Review.

This last week just flew by. I still don’t have enough time to do all I want to do. I come home from work and more or less crash. I’ve been going full steam there because of all the stuff I’m trying to get done to meet deadlines, and by the time I walk in the door my brain is just so done. I can’t really focus on anything. Anyone else have this issue? If you do, any suggestions for the rest of us?

I finally chose a camera to upgrade to. I currently film my YouTube videos with a Sony a5100. Something I learned after I got the camera is it will overheat, which was not mentioned in any reviews I saw of it before I purchased. I also didn’t really do my homework with it, I went off the word of a few YouTubers who had picked it up. This gets difficult when doing unboxings, like each month with the Whimsify unboxings I do, a few times I’ve had to stop and put the box down while I was unboxing to wait for the camera to cool down. This issue is complicated by the fact I only have so much time to film with my husband out of the house or while our dog is outside or relaxing to film uninterrupted. The office muffles any background sounds, but has not great lighting and not great sound, but a door that I can close to prevent interruptions. The Family Room where I tend to film has okay sound, but is open to basically the rest of the house, so any movement my husband or our dog make will be heard. So I try to film during their “down times” or when they are not around. Having to wait 30 minutes or so, before I can pick up the camera again and film, is a pain. So I have chosen a new camera which will be revealed at a later date. However, this new camera has interchangeable lenses and has 2 different box kits. One with a basic lense to start, and one without in case you already have a bunch of lenses. I accidentally went for the one without a lense. So I went back to eBay and scoped out a few lenses, did some research on lenses and what to look for, and have purchased a lense. Now I wait for later this week for the lense to arrive. Based on it’s expected arrival, the first video I film with it will likely be my reading vlog for Dewey’s Readathon happening this Saturday.

Writing has been minimal this week, but I have done more writing than I have in past weeks. Counting that as a win. But as previously mentioned, I came home essentially dead from work each day and didn’t really read. Plus with 2 books I reeeeaaaaalllly need to read and review, I tried to push myself to read those rather than write.

I have not yet finished Road of the Lost by Aidan Russell. If I must be truthful, I am not even halfway through Road of the Lost. I’m still working on reading this, and still intend to read Traitor Born by Amy A. Bartol next. So, no change in what I hope to read for this next week from last week. Hoping I overcome the brain deadness after work so I can get more of this done.

I will also be participating in Dewey’s 24-hour Readathon this Saturday so hoping to get a lot of reading done and meet some new friends.
