Sunday Post #79: Basement update

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly over on the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news of what happened in your life, what’s coming up on your blog, or recap posts shared.

We’ve been busy on the basement project. We almost have a new, to code, gas line in for the dryer – we ran into an unforseen issue with the previous pipe. I hung, all by myself, one sheet of drywall. (Very proud of myself for that since I don’t have a lot of experience hanging drywall, even with help.) Electrical is basically done, just need cover plates, but those won’t go on until the drywall is up.

The one sheet of drywall over my right shoulder; I hung it.

Today’s planned projects include hopefully finishing the new gas line, starting some rough plumbing for the half bathroom, and hanging more drywall. I’m also hoping to write and schedule some posts for here, as too often I’m typing them up the day I want to post them or the night before. Need to get a bit of a buffer going as I’ve already gotten one crazy request for work projects, and I know more are coming.

I’ve been reading The City We Became by N. K. Jemisin, not getting very far, but still not wanting to stop. The stoppage of reading is caused by outside factors getting in the way of reading time.

  1. You’ve been too busy to read during the day, and probably too tired to read in the evening. I remember when my sister and I decorated my former bathroom, I used to just drop there and feel proud of the work done. Good job πŸ˜‰

  2. Hope you have a great weekend- the basement project sounds fun! Well maybe not fun per se but I bet it will be amazing when it’s completed!

  3. I am someone who wants to run far, far away whenever a gas line or gas appliance has to be tinkered with by a professional and I am also someone who wants to sit in the car and cry rather than venture into Home Depot for a tool, or a screw, or a can of paint, so I applaud you on hanging drywall and other projects!
