Sunday Post #8 – Another Dewey’s Readathon is Over

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kim over on Caffeinated Reviewer.

So, yesterday was Dewey’s 24 hour Readathon. I read a whopping 132 pages during the readathon. Yes I realize this number is low for me, especially when I was reading while out and about. Literally. I had the iPad out and up so I could still see where I was going. I just wasn’t watching head on as you may say, it was more, getting around with peripheral vision. To do this, I made sure my husband or friend we were out with, were in my vision directly ahead of me.

My only excuse would be the distractions were too great. Later in the evening I gave in and played ESO, per our usual. I didn’t play the entire time the group was on, but I did give in and play longer than I intended. My intention was to maybe do one dungeon with them. Instead, I did 3 like we usually do, plus some wandering in the world. I did read while some of this was happening, but really, you can’t read and play a game. So I mostly played the game while I was on.

The gaming was good to me though. It helped calm the mind so I could take a nap. I had tried earlier and failed to fall asleep because I kept thinking how I should be reading. I wasn’t done with the book yet. I felt I hadn’t earned the right to sleep. So I slept for about 3 hours, and later an additional I don’t know how many, because the book was not holding my attention and before I knew it I was sleeping again.

This means I STILL have not finished Road of the Lost. And I STILL have not started Traitor Born. Ug. Well, here’s hoping this week will be better for reading and I will finish both.

I’m still planning to have a review up of Road of the Lost on Tuesday here on the blog. Stay tuned….
