Sunday Post #81: BEDA and More

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly over on the Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news of what happened in your life, what’s coming up on your blog, or recap posts shared.

Here we are in 2021, and I still haven’t really been reading. I have a certification I’m trying to get through work and have been reading for that. It’s not fun reading for this certification. It does though, make me want to read for fun. I’ve started a few books and once again have multiple books going at once.

We’ve also been working on the basement still. We mostly have the ceiling done. Just working on inserting the ceiling tiles for the drop ceiling. We also made a quick change, which wasn’t really quick, and added a closet around the water meter which comes in to the room and down through the floor. So this caused us some fun while we broke our rhythm, went back to drywalling, mudding, and still need to prime and paint it.

I looked back before writing this post, and realized I haven’t actually posted yet in 2021. Since I haven’t really been reading, I didn’t really have much to post and was having a hard time finding the time. But, I’m going to make time because I’m missing this blog. I’m probably setting myself up for failure, but, I’m hoping to do BEDA for the first time. BEDA is Blog Every Day in April. I’ve seen other creators also pick other months, or will do VEDA, which is Vlog Every Day in April.

My first introduction to the idea of BEDA was actually a Booktuber, Little Book Owl, who changed things up and did VEDO a few years, which was Vlog Every Day in October. I did some research on this event and found it was originally BEDA, to Blog Every Day in April. I did do a VEDA a few years ago when I was posting on YouTube. While I think I made it, or came close to making it, I almost died. Editing all those videos was just a bit much. I’m hoping the blogging will go a bit faster, and not be so stressful.

In addition to BEDA, studying for this certification for work, and DIYing our basement, why not throw something else in the mix? I’m hoping to do Camp NaNoWriMo. I’m not completely crazy, and I will not be going for the full 50,000 words a traditional NaNo would be. Camp NaNoWriMo allows you to pick the number of words you’d like to aim for. So you could pick the usual 50,000, you could go more than 50,000, or you can go less. I’m going for less knowing I will not be able to handle the 50,000 with everything else I’m doing. I’m instead going to cut this goal down to 12,000 words. This is still more than I achieved in November, and yet still sounds attainable even with everything else going on.

What have you all been up to? Read any good books lately? I hope to see you all back here for BEDA, and in the meantime, I’ll see you in the comments, and maybe on the other socials. šŸ˜ (In addition to not posting here, I haven’t been on Twitter, Instagram, or any of the socials either until now.)
