Happy New Year! Let's hope we break the curse of the 2020s this year. Not just the pandemic, but I've been struggling with my reading. Last year I think was the worst, although that's hard to say because I didn't track 2020 or much of 2021. I also struggled even in my tracking because many of the books I borrowed from my library or Scribd did not get added to my tracking spreadsheet. I hope to have a post somewhat soon, as in sometime this month, about reading apps. For reasons I'll get into in that post, I feel this may help with my excuses for forgetting to add, or just not adding books to my tracking.
2022 Reading Challenges
I'm sure most readers have already decided if they will or will not participate in any reading challenges this year. I wasn't sure how the year was going to go, and it really hasn't started that great with me starting 4 books in January, but only managed to finish 1. Although, I am feeling very… Continue reading 2022 Reading Challenges
Quarter 2 Goals Review & Quarter 3 Goals
Well, the second quarter was… interesting, I guess is the word I would use. It was also quite hectic, or at least felt hectic. I felt like it was just one thing after another, but still managed a few successes with my goals and we are here again. Real quick, here is how I did… Continue reading Quarter 2 Goals Review & Quarter 3 Goals
2021 Quarter 2 Goals
I don't usually, at least lately, make quarterly goals, but it is something I want to get back to. I think it helps me focus in on and define what is priority for me. Making them quarterly instead of monthly, also helps with some flexibility when one month goes sideways and things just go crazy inserting themselves in to your day and taking up your time. The quarterly timeframe just works well for me because it's also not trying to see too far in to the future. Annual just seems to be too hard to stick to because something will change, or something happens and my priorities change.
These Books Will Self-Destruct | 2021
I've seen Booktubers do something like this, but I'm changing it. On this list, yes are books I've had on my TBR for a while, but additionally, these are all books I've picked up, started reading, then put down for one reason or another and never picked up again.
I'm not one for waiting for the first of the new year to start making improvements for myself, or life in general. For a few of these I just thought of them, or the new year just makes a nice starting point.
Goodreads Challenge 2019
Last year I kept my Goodreads challenge somewhere I knew I would hit. This year, I would like to increase the goal. In fact, I've decided to double my goal in the Goodreads challenge. I knew for 2018, I could easily get an average of 1 book read each week. While Goodreads shows I only… Continue reading Goodreads Challenge 2019
2019 Audiobook Challenge
As I previously mentioned, 2019 is going to be interesting and full. Audiobooks will likely be the only reason I will have read more books than I did this year. Or at least that is going to be the idea. To keep the pressure off though I am going to keep my Goodreads goal at… Continue reading 2019 Audiobook Challenge
Creating a TBR list
I don't usually create TBRs for a month because I'm more of a mood reader; I read what I feel like reading. The problem with this is there are books I actually need to read and those I should be reading. An example would be the book my sister let me borrow at Christmas which… Continue reading Creating a TBR list
Goals April – June 2018
I've done quarterly goals before, and failed spectacularly. However, my motivations and what I want to be doing has changed so I thought I would give this a chance again. If at first you don't succeed, approach from a different road; so that is what I'm doing. Learn to edit video in Adobe. I'm looking… Continue reading Goals April – June 2018
